Zoesis Studios
While working at Zoesis Studios, my artistic craft improved greatly. My best work at Zoesis
was done for The Pearl Demon,
which was a demonstration of the company's most advanced technology at the time. In this game, the
user is pitted against a procedurally animated, artificially intelligent and emotional demon. My role in this project was to design and build a 3D model that fit our peculiar artistic and technical constraints.
My work began with the sketching of numerous potential designs that fit our constraints. Next came several iterations of mesh construction and revision, followed by the mapping of texture-coordinates and the completion of a preliminary texture image. As the demo matured, morph-targets were added and revised, and the texture was refined. Happily, the model was completed with plenty of time to spare.
I had many artistic tasks at Zoesis prior to the Pearl Demon demo. Some of my earliest work at the company was to
design, model and paint 3D Sets for the OttoAndIris.com online world. During the studio's exploration of
online marketing, I created many branded variations of our Otto and Iris characters and the
activities in their world. I also created the artistic content for technology demos such as Mr. Bubb.
