Adventure

This ball of fun is an interactive "choose your own adventure" created using Macromedia Director. It was an academic project that I used to learn rudimentary Lingo programming, as well as an exercise in game design and planning. First I assessed what the limits of my plot-threads were by determining what images could be obtained to describe the story. Next I drew up a 40 node state machine describing the flow of the program from start menu to ending screen. Only then did I finally sit down and fire up my development software and make the game. Happily the game was completed without a hitch and matching the written specs exactly.
